- the student's mentor must be willing to become an active member of the Carnegie Alpha Lab Research Network and supervise the student's research; and
- the student must conduct research aligned with the research priorities of the network.
To apply, fill out the application form below. Applications will be reviewed starting June 1, 2014. If you have questions, feel free to email , Director of the Carnegie Alpha Lab Research Network.
The Fine Print
The total amount of the award will be $20,500. The Fellow will be paid as a consultant to the Carnegie Alpha Lab Research Network and will be required to show proof of insurance as an independent consultant. That insurance is available for $500, and will need to be covered by the Fellow before the funds are awarded. The Fellow must submit a scope of work, sign a contract issued by UCLA Purchasing that explains details of the agreement, and submit invoices upon reaching project milestones.
The award is taxable and the recipient should speak to his/her tax accountant for more information about tax implications.
